Beer and Curry Night at Kissingate Brewery

As you may know, Kissingate Brewery is a small brewery in Lower Beeding on the outskirts of Horsham. They hold several events at the brewery throughout the year and yesterday was a Beer and Curry Night. I was able to attend with a couple of friends from work. It was great!

The evening cost £25 per person for curry (chicken or vegetable, rice, poppadum, onion bhaji, samosa), dessert (apple crumble and custard or toffee and banana meringue), and beers from the brewery of course.

Kissingate Old was a great match

There were fours beers available on the night. Kissingate Sussex, Chennai IPA, Old and Smelter's Stout. I drank the Chennai IPA and Old which were both excellent. And, the beers were great accompaniments to the food. Perhaps surprisingly, I really enjoyed Kissingate Old with the chicken curry. It was a great match although I didn't expect it to be.

There were about 20 people at the event which took place in the upper mezzanine level of the brewery. It was a cold evening but somehow, after a few beers and the curry, I didn't seem to notice!

We received a friendly welcome from Kissingate's owners Gary and Bunny Lucas, the curry was great and the beers were excellent. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed the evening.

  • As well as the Beer and Curry Nights, the brewery has Spring and October Festivals, Vintage Cream Tea afternoons and regular Micro Club nights. More details are available on the brewery events page.
