    Some Pubs are Open

Some pubs are open now and operating with one metre + distancing in place. It's not every pub because some cannot open under these guidelines and others are reviewing how they can open safely. Yet, after the COVID-19 lockdown, we are seeing a slow return to a degree of normality in the pub sector.

  • Not the Beer of the Month post

Well, that was very successful. Not! My plan to publish a Beer of the Month post, um, every month has failed after just a few months. Obviously I have not been drinking enough beer!

  • Beer in glasses

My first visit to a Sussex Bottle Share evening

Sussex Bottle Share is a beer tasting event that was created by Rach Smith in January 2018. Yesterday, Sussex Bottle Share was held in the Malt Shovel in Horsham and I went along to see what happens.

  • A few words about the Dark Star and Fuller's deal

A few weeks ago, it was announced that Fuller's had taken a 100% stake in Dark Star, one of my favourite, small independent breweries. With a deal like this, it's always best to see how the two companies work together before deciding if it's good or bad. The time to judge this deal is in a year or two when the impact is clear.

  • The Half Moon

    The Half Moon shines brightly

The Half Moon in Kirdford was bought in the summer by fashion model, racing car driver and TV personality, Jodie Kidd. The Grade II listed pub has been renovated with new bar and interior, new menus, an outdoor patio area, and a host of other improvements. Here's my review of the Press Lunch.

    A tour of Firebird Brewery

Firebird Brewery tours take place every second Tuesday of the month. My coworking colleagues and I booked a place on this week's tour and loved it.

  • Bottled beers on the bar

Hats off to Horsham's new brewery!

There's a new brewery in Horsham! Chapeau Brewing in Redkiln Close opened their doors for a pre-launch party on 1st November. I was lucky enough to be invited to try their beers.
